The Letter “P” Starts With “Pumpkin”!

This past weekend was full of fun Fall activities! While Preston, Ella, and Audrey were all fighting colds, I somehow managed to avoid the sickness for a few days. To get out of the house on Saturday, we headed up to Jaemor Farms to take part in some seasonal festivites. Ella and I went for a hayride, Preston and Ella participated in the apple slingshot (a daring feat for all those who have never done so!), Ella got the pleasure of tasting her first RC Cola, and Preston ate his weight in fresh fried pies (the sweet potato was his favorite). We’ve added some pictures to our gallery from this fun trip, so be sure to check them out.
For those of you who may not know, I’m facing my thirties head-on. My 30th birthday is in two short weeks, and as my birthday present, Preston secretly arranged an overnight break for us. My mom kept the girls for us while we went out on the town, eating at PF Chang’s, scanning the bookstore, and window shopping the mall, before heading back to a full-night’s sleep and late-sleeping morning (that’s 7:30 am, folks!) for us this past Sunday. It was the perfect break and birthday present, and I must give my husband major kudos for planning and executing a wonderful early birthday for me! As Preston said, “You only turn thirty once.” Thank goodness for that! I’m actually not dreading the big 3-0 one bit. In fact, I’m thinking that these will be the best years of my life, watching my two girls grow and change and spending time with my amazing husband. I can’t wait to see what the next ten years bring.
