Lizards and Pumpkins and Shots, Oh My!

Uncategorized

Audrey turned six months old on Sunday, and we had her six month check-up today.  She has gained three pounds in the last two months–the largest weight gain for her yet–to weigh in at 15 lbs. 6 oz.  She is in the 25th percentile in weight.  However, her height has shot up, and she is in the 90th percentile in height, coming in at 27 and one half inches.  She definitely gets that from her daddy.  Alas, she had to get her shots, but she took them like a champ, and only cried for about half a minute before she starting squealing/singing for the entire doctor’s office.

We’ve got one week to go before Halloween.  Ella is very excited to be Elmo, a costume that is extremely cute and disturbing at the same time.  Audrey will be a little bumblebee.  Fall is our favorite time in the Burt house, and we are glad to have two girls to share it with this year.

Preston recently got a lizard for his classroom–it’s the cutest little gecko.  Ella decided to name it Hurgie because that’s the closest she could get to calling it Herbie (the dog across the street that she adores).  Hurgie will live at our house on the weekends and over holidays, but otherwise, he will belong to the kindergarteners at Preston’s school.  We watched Hurgie eat his meal of choice, a cricket, last night, and I must say that it was pretty intriguing and gross.  Ella, of course, was fascinated.
